A personal, honest account of my Mounjaro (tirzepatide) journey — the appetite, the side effects, and discovering that knowing why I eat doesn't necessarily make it easy to stop.
What gets published here
Notes on what it's actually like being on Mounjaro (tirzepatide): the appetite changes, the side effects, the weight, and the ongoing argument with food that the medication helps with but hasn't ended. Posts are written to be honest about what's still hard, not just what's working.
Why this exists
Almost everything I do somehow turns into a computer project. I used to collect Batman comics, so I built a popular online Batman comic book database. I bought a car and needed a fog lamp, so I joined a forum to find one — and ended up running its technical side, then owning it outright. I got a dog, she turned out to have epilepsy, so I started recording her seizures and vet visits as a blog. You can probably guess by now: I work in IT.
This site follows the same pattern, but the actual reason I started it was simpler. Mostly it's a way to record my own thoughts and feelings as I go through something genuinely difficult. If anyone else starting down the same path finds any of it useful along the way, that's a welcome bonus, not the main point.
Some of it is a fairly fun look at the journey. Some of it shows the frustration. All of it is just my own experience, written as it happened.
How it is written
Everything here is personal experience, not medical advice — what happened, when it happened, and how it felt at the time. If something changes later, that goes in too, rather than quietly editing the record.
